I took the train from London to Harwich where I got on a Stena Line ferry for the four hour ride
across the North Sea to Hoek van Holland. The ferry was HUGE. It had multiple restaurants,
a casino, a kids area, and a movie theater. This a a picture of the inside of the ferry.

I took the train from Hoek van Holland to The Hague and spent my first ever night in a hostel.
These were my roommates, three guys from New Jersey.

Holland is a cyclist's paradise. Almost every road has a bike path next to it and
there are many other standalone bike paths. Many of them are paved as you see here.

EVERYBODY rides bikes here. I saw parents riding with kids on the back, a baby in a
baby seat attached to the handlebars, and a surfer in a wet suit carrying a surf board.

I rode a bike path through the sand dunes along the North Sea coast from Katwijk to
Scheveningen. A mile and a half into the ride with nothing but the sand dunes and the
bike path for as far as you could see, I was amazed to come upon this cafe. They served
snacks, ice cream, beer, wine, etc. They are totally supported by the cyclists using the
bike path.
