San Carlos, MexicoOctober 2003Tetawaki Hill |
| Information I found elsewhere on the Internet said Tetawaki Hill is about 600 feet high. That doesn't sound that big until you compare it to a 60 story building. It sure seemed big when I climbed to the top. It took about two and a half hours. I actually climbed it twice. The first time I was close but did not quite make the top. Luke, our desert tour guide, then told me you have to hug a cliff wall with a six foot drop into sharp rock then ascend through a small cave to get to the very top. The second time I made it. The pictures below are views from the top. |
| Tetawaki Hill has a double peak. If you look at the top picture above, I am standing on the left peak. There is a surprising amount of room up there. I was able to position my camera far enough away to get this shot. The big rock right in front of me is the tip of the second peak. The left side of the photo shows San Carlos. |

This is a view facing North. Our hotel, Premier Vacation Club Resort,
is in the cluster of buildings on the right.

| Close up of the second peak. You cannot get to the top of this one without climbing gear. Note the cross on the lower rock. |

The road on the left leads to lookout point. A great place for sunset pictures.
