Lash Publications International Wins Sixth Apex Award

Lash Publications International is pleased to announce that it has received another Award of Excellence from the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. Sponsored by Communications Concepts, this is the 14th year of the competition program, which had nearly 5,900 entries in 11 major categories and 100 sub-categories. Awards are given for print and electronic media and are evaluated on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. The competition is open to professional communicators. 

The award was granted in the technical writing category for Assistive Technologies: Improving Lives at Home, Work and Recreation, by Laurel M. Sheppard, published in the June 2001 Conference issue of the Society of Women Engineers. The writing category (both Feature and Technical) had a total of 938 entries. The panel of judges included John De Lellis, editor & publisher of Communications Concepts; Dr. Paul Fisher, Concepts senior evaluator and former professor of journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism; and Nancy Rathbun Scott, contributing editor of Writing that Works: The Business Communications Report. They described the competition as being "exceptionally intense."

This brings the total number of APEX awards Lash Publications International has received to six. Previous awards were received in 2001, 2000, 1999, and 1996.
